Our honey. From bee, to bottle. It began in 2015 when a friend generously gifted Saingbey a top bar hive in Portland, Oregon. He knew it was something sweet and special, but he didn’t know how much one hive could change everything.
With his commitment to community, family and the diaspora, the interconnectedness potential of his hive soon began to resonate.
With a phone call from his father in Liberia, and some land, a hobby blossomed to become a path to create change, and Brothers Bee Keeping was born. He then set out to create a company that puts people over profits with sustainable and planet-first products. This is what makes BBK different. We proudly partner with local groups in efforts to connect those left out of life’s sweeter experiences with the same passion that inspired Brother’s Beekeeping—a hive.
At the start of just $30 per hive, we provide a sustainable and planet-friendly opportunity for members of our communities to build their own lives, one hive at a time.

Our Story
Our story began in 2015 when a friend generously gifted Saingbey a top bar hive, in Portland, Oregon. At this moment he knew that this was something sweet and special, but little did he know how much that first hive would change everything.
For Saingbey, this was more than just taking care of a few bees, it marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life. A true renaissance man, many interests have been explored, but he had a pivotal moment of clarity where he realized he could use his new found interest to help others, connect with his father, and his family in Liberia. The connections were all too clear. Just as clear as hive connects us to the planet. With the good we can on his shoulders he set out to create a honey company unlike any and thats what we continue to do today.
Our commitment to people over profits, uncompromising integrity, curiosity, transparency, and quality is what makes Brothers Bee Keeping different. It’s what makes us the best choice for Honey around. But we do so much more than just produce honey and honey based sauces. Saingbey’s vision of giving back inspires us every day to look beyond someone’s surface, to see their potential. To do this we first, created a company with the people and planet are at the core instead of profits. We aim to uplift the downtrodden .person for the job, regardless of criminal history. We have witnessed first-hand that someone’s potential is purely circumstantial and does not define their future. sometimes giving someone an opportunity/ home is all they need to become a xxxx. We are searching for partners on this journey in Portland, while in Liberia we work closely with Universal Outreach at an average of just $30 a hive we are able to provide a sustainable and environmentally friendly opportunity. A change in one bee means a change for the community and thats always sweeter than honey.

The purpose of this entity is to impact the lifes of people while inherently exsposing them to become an enviromentaly curios human and simtaniouslet providing sustainable nacial oppurtunities and growth both personaly and nancially. Unfortunate in life there are all too many obstacles and biases placed upon us. Thriugh this we will prove that lifes experiences are deserved by all and that this one in particular is special. The mission is to stand for transparency and honesty in business and to show that black business can not only thrive but continue to add so much to the culture and community is apart of. We want to show that all of life’s experiences are open to those who are willing to try. We want to change peoples lifes in two main ways. One, be able to take the resources around and with a little help create opportunity for themselves while connecting them with nature that only truly a bee can. I know and believe through personal experience as well as case studies. (insert Chicago bee keeping, Dave’s killer bread, po - shines) that you become more aware and more compassionate. You understand that it doesn’t take a pandemic to realize how connected everything on this planet is connected. We want to grow to have at risk or previously incarcerated peoples get introduced into the Bee Keeping community here in Portland. The next step will be to then provide our own space, either co-opted or original, to call our own for honey production. We will look for collaborations within the community to help expedite this part of the mission. We not only want to give people the wonderful experience of bee keeping, but also how to run and operate a sustainable business with integrity and people rst mentality. It can not just be about the bottom line! Something our competitor are not doing in a outward facing way is partnering with chefs, and personalities to endorse product. Also as inuence goes an integral part of marketing. I want to create a business community where values are the navigational system that truly guides this ship. Too often do we give our money to companies that have great values, but at the end of the day have to make investors happy, money and the bottom line at all costs. Truth:

Brothers Bee Keeping currently uses raw, organic honey from local farmers in Southern Washington. Even our spices are fresh. Just because pickling is a preservation process doesn’t mean you can use dried-up thyme or week-old asparagus that’s already a little spongy.
We want to give our customers sustainable, healthy and delicious honey based sauces and products. Most of all, we want to expand the oppurtunity forpeople’s palates and prove that pickles don’t always come in a green or red variety.
